Detente  means the relaxing of tense relations between countries. The term was used during the 1960s and 1970s to describe efforts to decrease tensions between the U.S.S.R and the United States.

This was a difficult quiz - however question 2 is slightly incorrect. Destalinisation was the main policy of Khrushchev

Well, I suppose that 2 is correct- Khrushchev wanted peaceful co-operation through the process of destalination? Relaxing of USSR policies will draw less attention/ condemnation from the USA, meaning there would be less tension
