Why did he want to take over Abyssinia?
It was one of the few countires left independant in Africa, he was keen to avenge the dfeat, he wanted their minerals and resources, and a victorous war would divert the problems of the depression in italty,

A treaty of friendship which they wouldnt stick to as Mussolini was preparing for war,

They banned the sale of arms and other good to Italy and banned all imprts from Italy

It didnt ban the sale of oil and coal as oil was from the USA who wouldnt co-operate with the L of N due to isolationism and Britain siad that 30,000 miners would be jobless if it was banned,

They didn't close it as they were afriad it would cause a war from Itlay if they did,

the Hoare-Laval Pact split Abyssinia- 2/3 would go to mussolini and 1/3 to Italy,

it underminded the L of N and showed that B and F were acting in self-interest and didnt believe in the L of N

It didnt happen as it was leaked to the press and their was a punlic outcry. Hoare and Laval resigned,

The Emporer fled and went to Geneva on the 3oth May 1936 and he addressed the L of N and complained about the their faliure to stop Italy,

1937. No, she signed the rome-Berlin Axis with Germany in 1936,

he re-militarised the Rhineland so he reversed the T of V on March 1936, He now knows the L of N wont stop him,

It marked the end of the L of N as a peace-keeping treaty and it showed they were powerless to aggressive countries,
