Causes
The army and Social Democrats agreed to form government to keep out the most extreme left (Communists)

The Freikorps are formed (right wing).
January 1919 - Spartacists organise anti-government demonstrations.
they seized gov buildings and declared a Communist takeover.
Attempted to bring about a general strike.
The gov send in the Friekorp to crush.

The Spartacists were crushed by the Freikorps.
Liebknecht and Luxemburg were beaten to death.
