Who was Wilhelm Wundt?
Wilhelm Wundt was the first psychologist, he paved the way for acceptance of psychology as a science. He studied aspect of behaviour that could be controlled.

What is structuralism?
Break down behaviour such as sensation and perception into their basic elements.

What is introspection?
Introspection is the process where a person gains knowledge about his or her own mental and emotional states. Introspective ability enables us to observe our inner world.

How did Wundt use introspection?
Wundt used introspection by showing a stimuli to a participant and asking them to relfect about how the were perceiving it.

What is empiricism?
The belief that all knowledge is derived from sensory experience. It is generally characterised by the use of the scientific method in psychology.

What is scientific method?
Refers to the use of investigative methods that are objective, systematic and replicable, and the formulation, testing and modification of hypotheses based on these methods.
