Poseidon
Sets himself the task of ensuring that Odysseus struggles to get home late and if he must he will arrive late and with great struggle.

Acts as Odysseus’ “guardian angel’ and helps him on his journey.

Circe
Gives Odysseus and his crew food and drink along with a place to stay but attempts to harm his crew and slows his journey down as she keeps him on her island

Calypso
Falls in love with Odysseus and keeps him on her island for 7 years.

Hyperion (sun god)
Sees to it that Odysseus and his men are punished by Zeus for killing and eating his cattle.

Hermes
Helps Odysseus with getting his men from Circe and forces Calypso to free him from her island. (Messenger for the gods)

Aeolus
Gives Odysseus a bag of winds that takes him home but the bag is opened and sends them back, he refuses to help a second time.

Zeus
Orders Calypso to let Odysseus leave her island. Also destroys Odysseus' ship after his crew slaughters the sun god's cattle.
