How does this work?
As you breathe in, air enters the trachea. This splits two bronchi. Each bronchus leads off into smaller tubes called bronchioles. These end in small air sacs called alveoli where gases are exchanged.

Goblet cells secrete mucus, cilia beat the mucus, elastic fibres help us breathe out, smooth muscle allows the diameter to be controlled, rings or cartilage provide support
