Consent
Gain permission from the participant that they are willing to take part in an experiment.

Right to withdraw
They need to know they are allowed to leave at any time. If they choose to leave you have to get rid of their data.

You say one thing that is not true but in the end you have to tell the participant the truth. You should not lie.

Debrief
This is a meeting at the end to tell them everything that has happened and give them the option to see their results and the last time for them to take up their opportunity of their right to withdraw if they do not want their data shared.

Competence
You should be qualified/trained in the method you are using.

Protection
Make sure no harm comes to them. You have to also make sure that no harm can come to you. There should be no harm mentally or physically.
