The Grand Alliance was an alliance which joined together the USA(Roosevelt), USSR (Stalin) and UK (Churchill).

The Novikov Telegram
America desired to dominate the world. Following FDR's death, the American government was no longer interested in co-operation with the USSR. The American public were being prepared for war with the USSR.

Stalin had given a speech calling for the destruction of Capitalism. There could be no peace with the USSR while it was opposed to Capitalism.The USSR was building up its military power.

was the Communist Information Bureau that was established in 1947 by Stalin. It was a organisation set up to represent Communist Parties all across Europe and bring the under the direction of the USSR.

Comecon
1949 by Stalin as a counter for Marshall Plan. Stalin knew that the Marshall Plan was very attractive to some Eastern European governments. he ordered his satellites states to boycott it and so he needed to set up a Communist alternative.

NATO
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. A result of the Berlin blockade. Twelve countries in the West making a promise to defend each other if a crisis arose.
