Long neurones

Why do we have different areas of the brain?
Different areas are responsible for different functions, e.g. the cortex is responsible for vision

How is information moved?
Neurones pass messages along through electrical impulses and across the gaps using neurotransmitters

How is the message received?
Neurotransmitters are passed across the synaptic gap where they're picked up be receptor sites.
