The causes of Da Civil War

These cards are all about The Causes Of The Civil War. The reason they don't want the religion to turn back to Catholic again is because before The Stuart's which is before James I time this happened:

In 1500 England's religion was Catholic. Henry wanted to divorce his wife but he could only do this if he made himself head of the church and turned England's religion slightly Protestant in 1509. He didn't change it completely Protestant but wanted too, but he died before he could change it completely Protestant. Henry's son, Edward VI then took over the throne in 1547 and added a few more Protestant things then died. Edward's sister then took over the throne in 1553. She was called Mary I, or better know as Bloody Mary. She wanted to make England BACK to Protestant religion, so that's what she did. She soon died so then the throne was given to Elizabeth who was Mary's  and Edward's sister. Elizabeth preferred the Protestant religion but let people be the religion they wanted.

Btw Bloody Mary BURNT around 285 Protestant people in her 5 years of ruling. That's 57 people a year, around 4-5 people a month! Henry VIII burnt 40 but killed more people in other ways than Mary. He should be called Bloddy Henry. :p

Elizabeth burnt 45 people in her 45 years of ruling.
