Since India was not a unitied country, but a country with small states and its own rulers, the company needed protection.

What caused the war in 1700 between the British and the French?
France had its own EIC, the rivalry between the two countries became very intense, untile it escalated so much to cause a war.

Why did the British EIC's army helped the Indian armies during the war?
Becasue Britian's aim was to help any Indian ruler who would help them trade and defeat any ruler who blocked their trade-to control India for their benefit.

What happened is 1757?
Robert Clive, British, persuaded the Indian general Mir Jafar, to fight with him to defeat Jafar's own ruler-Siraj-ud-Daula. After Clive and Jafar won, Clive was considered as a hero in England since the compnay now had control over Bengal.

Due to this what happened in 1765?
Clive was sent back to Bengal, from there he started conquering each state in India. This defeated the French's EIC.
