biconcave, flexible and without nucleus. they bind oxygen molecules obtained in the lungs and transport them to different parts of the body and after depositing oxygen they pick up carbon dioxide to transport to the lungs

made from peices of cells found in the bone marrow called megakaryocytes. gragments of megakaryocytes circulate through the blood and clot. platlets clump together on injured blood vessel to stop bleeding
