Why did the baron's rebel?
John's failure in Normandy angered barons who had paid for the war

Barons gathered at St Bury Edmunds to force John to confirm the Coronation Charter of his great grandfather in which the king promised good government and to respect customs. They intended to rebel if he refused to agree
