Why did they move to the middle of America?
They decided to move to a warmer part of America

Very mountainous, big open spaces, hot in summer, cold in winter, home to grazing animals such as the buffalo

Was there any difference between any of the tribes?
Apart from language and dress, there was no difference between the Natives

All men, sat in a circle, representation of issue being discussed in the centre,

Name given to fit young men, responsible for protection and hunting

Women and Children
Women were responsible for domestic duties, Children watched their parents for their roles in the future

What were Tipi's like?
Made out of buffalo skin and anything that was available to them, circular base and cone shaped

Family life
Men, Women, Elders and Children, Marriage was not arranged, polygamy was often done, and if divorced the woman would keep the Tipi

Main Sources
The buffalo was their main source for everything (like a Tesco), Horses were a vital part in tribes even though they weren't introduced till later on

What was taken: A Lance, A Coup Stick, A Rifle (If available), A War Shirt, A Shield, A Horse, Body Paint, An Amulet, Bow and Arrow, Your collection of Feathers

Indians would scalp their enemies and keep them as a trophy (Scalp dance)

Main aspect of their life, Ceremonies, Circles, Visions, Sacred land and Dances
