How would you test for glucose?
Add benedicts reagent and heat --> colour change from blue to brick red

How would you test for starch?
Add iodine --> colour change from orange to blue/black

How would you test for protein? (biuret test)
Add a few cm of NaOH + CuSO4 --> colour change from blue to lilac

How would you test for enzymes?
Water bath at a range of temperatures --> denatures above 40 degree and is inactivated at lower temps.

How would you test a leaf for starch?
Boil in water for 2 min, turn off bunsen, boil leaf in alcohol until white, dip in water, lay out on til + add iodine
