Summarise the role of the pituitary gland
'The Master Gland' Controls the release of hormones from ALL other glands within the body. Produces hormones which stimulate the release of hormones from other glands.

1. Adrenal Medulla 2. Adrenal Cortex

What is the adrenal cortex?
Produce the hormone cortisol. Regulates+supports a variety of body functions. Production increases in response to stress. Low levels of cortisol=low blood pressure, poor immune system and difficulty dealing with stress

What is the adrenal medulla?
Releases adrenaline/noradrenaline. They prepare the body for flight or fight respons. Adrenaline helps us to respond to shore term stress eg. increasing blood flow to brain
