Line Graphs
They can be used as an alternative to Histogram, has continuous data, useful for comparing, less detailed than Histogram but more detailed than a Frequency Table and mostly Interval / Ratio Data.
1 of 6
Frequency Tables
They are more useful than raw data table, more organised, Quantitative Data, Nominal Data (usually), patterns in the data is clearer. Strengths are that it shows patterns / trends. Weaknesses are it is very simple / basic.
2 of 6
Histograms
They are used to represent continuous data on a scale and they're mostly interval / ratio data. Strengths are useful for interval data and more detailed than frequency tables. Weaknesses are that they're time consuming.
3 of 6
Bar Charts
They are used to represent non-continuous data in categories and more likely nominal / ordinal data. Strengths are that it is easy to see patterns / trends. Weaknesses are that it is simple and not useful with interval / ratio data.
4 of 6
Pie Charts
They are anther way to represent frequency data and used for Nominal Data. Strengths are that is is easy to analyse patterns. Weaknesses are that it is simple and can't be used for interval / ratio data.
5 of 6
Scatter Diagrams
They are used for measuring the relationship between two variables. Strengths are that is shows strength / direction of two variables. Weaknesses are that it has no cause or effect.
