Reflection and Reflectional Symmetry
1) Reflect each point one at a time 2) Use a line that is perpendicular to the mirror line 3) Make sure the reflection is the same distance from the mirror line as the original shape 4) A shape has reflectional symmetry if you can draw a mirror line
1 of 5
Translation
1) When a shape has shifted left/right (x) and/or up/down (y) 2) The shift is given as a vector
2 of 5
Rotational Symmetry
1) A shape has rotational symmetry if it looks exactly like the original shape when it is rotated 2) The 'order' of rotational symmetry is the number of ways the shape looks the same 3) To rotate a shape you need to know: the centre, direction, degrees
3 of 5
Enlargement
1) To draw an enlargement you need to know; How much bigger/smaller to make the shape (Scale factor) & where you will enlarge the shape from (Centre of enlargement)
