I'm only going by what it says in my history book in school. But if you search it on google,  who invented the chloroform inhaler, you do get Edward murphy's chloroform inhaler, but you also get John Snow's chloroform inhaler, and you also get another names chloroform inhaler.

John Snow did invent the cloroform inhaler - it says in my history book! Also, it's ether not esther. I got my sister to test me and she thought ether was a person! LOL
