Cardinal Segura's letter (Cardinal Segura was the leader of the Spanish Roman Catholics), in this letter he urged Catholics to vote against the government parties in the up-coming elections. There was a lot of negative reaction to this.

Casas Viejas (Civil Guards attack Casas Viejas-this resulted in 22 villagers dead and in 3 members of the security forces dead). The socialists walk out of the government.

Formation of CEDA (led by Gil Robles, they were the 'reactionary right'; CEDA was the union of right-wing groups but weren't trusted by Zamora).
