Boarding cards
Can be through paper/phone. VA do not check boarding cards when passengers board the aircraft

Stages of flight: Pushback
ground staff disembarked, doors are closed and armed and flight deck door is locked.

Pre-taxi/Taxi out
engines running, aircraft moves under its own power to the runway. Safety demo, before securing themselves in their jumpseat

Take-off
Once wheels leave the ground

Climb
Landing gear retracted and continues to the top of climb. No PA's should be made for the first five minutes of the flight.

In-flight/cruise
At top of climb aircraft will level off at around 20,000-40,000ft reaching speeds of around 625 mph.

Before landing/descent
Begins when flight crew advise by interphone/PA that TOD has been reached and ends when crew instructed to take their seats. Equipment secured and ready for landing

Approach
Cabin crew instructed to take their seats for landing and ends when the landing gear is lowered.

Landing
landing gear lowered until aircraft has touched down and decelerated

After landing/taxi-in
Until doors are disarmed. all crew, passengers should remain secured with isles and exits clear.
