Streaming:
This is when students are in the same class in subjects based on their general ability. Students are divided in to higher and lower streams. Maybe labelling as 'bright' and 'not bright,'

Setting:
This is when students are in different classes on the basis of their ability . For example a student may be in top set for english, but bottom set for maths. This recognises that students can achieve different grades in different subjects.

The Cultural Capital:
This is when middle class parents are more likely to be able to provide more educationally stimulating things than working class parents . E.G more books and educational trips

Self Fulfilling Prophesies:
When a person is labelled as something that they might not be , but after the labelling they become this person. For example if a child is called a trouble maker, then they might actually start to cause more trouble after the labelling.

Ethnocentrism:
This means that the lessons that are taught in Britain may not appeal to some ethnic minorities. For example, they may not enjoy learning about British history as it does not relate to them.
