Parson(Functionalist)
Believes school is run in a fair meritocratic way, school is 1 of the main and best institute in society, it is the school where secondary socialisation and human capital take place (knowledge, skills, cognitive ability and personal/social skill)

Davis and Moore(Functionalist)
Talk about role allocation so the school helps to allocate people to different jobs which helps fill up all job sectors otherwise there would be jobs with no employees and society wouldn't function properly.

Bowles and Ginits(Marxist)
Passive & Obedient Workforce: the school is teaching students to do things as their told without questioning authority and thus are being obedient. The aim is to train students that they'll need to be passive & obedient at work(correspondence theory)

Gendered Subject Images: In her study she found images in textbook were bias in other words only appealed to specific gender she found specifically that physics book used images such as cars because of this a large % physic choosers were boys

Rosenthal and Jacobson(labelling/self fulfilling prophecy)
Gave teacher a list of 20% of students from the class students were randomly selected in original test they achieved same as others. These students were labelled as bloomers. After a year the they retested the bloomer and found their grades went up.

Numerous Asian familiy focus on their children education more than American/UK parents. This result in parents preventing children from Sleepover/sports etc. she based it on her upbringing her daughters can be seen as bias and can't be generalised
