What is a structuralist approach?
It concerns the overall structure of society and the thought that peoples actions are determined by society. It's the macro approach.

What is the interpretivist approach?
This theory emphasizes the free will and choice of individuals and their role in creating the social structure

What are the 2 main types of structuralism?
Functionalism (class consensus) and Marxism (class conflict)

What is functionalism?
A theory that views society as a complex but orderly and stable system with interconnected structures and functions or social patterns that operate to meet the needs of individuals in a society

What is Marxism?
The struggle between the working class (proletariat) and the owners of the means of production (bourgeoisie), that struggle is needed for historical change and will lead to capitalism being replaced by communism
