Agency Theory
Way of explaining obedience. Human behaviour evolved to include obedience, due to a complex human society.

Autonomous State
Acting upon free will and taking responsibility for our actions.

Agentic State
Acting on the behalf of others and letting them take responsibility (often an authorative figure)

Moral Strain
Doing something which goes against our moral principles but doing them anyway, for the greater good.

Obedience
Following an order by a given person with recognised authority over you.

Social Identity Theory
The act of being grouped will lead to prejudice.

Prejudice
An attitude towards another person, based on little or no knowledge of them.

Discrimination
Behaviour towards another person, based on prejudice thoughts.

Social Categorisation
The automatic act of putting self and others into groups.

Social Identification
Associating yourself as part of the in-group, often by the clothes we wear.

Social Comparison
Making the in-group appear more favourable than the out-group, often by making the out-group look bad.
