How does the Sally Anne saga test for theory of mind?
(hypothetical situation) Sally puts a marble in a basket and then leaves the room + her basket behind. Anne moves the marble. Children are asked where Sally will look for the marble when she returns.

What did Baren Cohen conclude about autistic children?
Failed to develop theory of mind. Baren Cohen tested autistic children with the Sally Anne saga and found that they scored lower than non-autistic children.

What is shared attention mechanism?
Ability to work out what others are thinking by looking at what they are doing or what they are looking at. Autistic children lack this ability.

Children from larger families develop theory of mind faster - probably because they're exposed to lots of different minds from an early age
