How can knowledge of social psychology reduce prejudice in situations like crowd behaviour and rioting?

Football hooliganism is where groups from the opposing teams fight each other and it is getting more violent and ruining football, rioting behaviour is also getting more violent as more people get involved like in the London riots

How can the Social Impact Theory explain it?
The strength, immediacy and number of the group is large in both situations and this influences more people to join and the SIN increases even more

How can the Realistic Conflict Theory explain it?
In-group (home team) and out-group (away team) compete for title, this forms in-group favouritism and negative out-group bias, conflict arises from this and so violence can occur

How can Social Identity Theory explain it?
In both riots and FBH, people loose their identity as they become part of the crowd, so they identify as the crowd, this means that their actions don't matter because they aren't acting as an individual
