what is conformity?
Conformity is a type of social influence defined as a change in belief or behavior in response to real or imagined social pressure. It is also known as majority influence.

how did Zimbardo investigate conformity?
zimbardo conducted a prison style experiment to investigate how readily people would conform to social roles they were placed in. he observed the actions of the prisoners and guards and found both adopted to their social roles.

Milligram wanted to found out why Germans were willing to kill jews in the holocaust so set up an experiment of a learner and teacher told where the learner was a confederate to see if the participant would give a potentially life threatening shock.
