Public conformance but,not private.This type of conformity therefore does not lead to a change in a person's private beliefs and is temporary.

New behaviours and attitudes become part on ones value system and are not dependent on the presence of a group-strongest type of conformity

Why is conformity good?
Everyone is in acceptance of something which creates a harmonious society preventing anarchy.It allows social norms to be shown so we know what to expect from people.
