what is inequality?
inequality is an imbalance in society where some people have more wealth and better opportunities than others and might be seen as more important than others

Max weber is a german sociologist and he believed that you weren't just divided by your social class but also by your status and power, this status and power came from your market position ( how much money you can earn)

power is the ability of individuals or groups to influence decisions about themselves or other people

the marxist view on power shows the great difference in power between different social class

the feminist view on power is that gender roles or gender discrimination affects your power which is why men are more dominant

what is Max Weber's view on authority?
Max Weber's view on authority is that there are three main sources of authority. 1.triditional authority 2. rational legal authority (rules which give people power) 3. charismatic authority (the personality of the leader)

power is exercised through sanctions ( rewards or punishments)

the difference between power and authority is authority is about the right or the position to make the decisions but power is about having the strength or ability to make the decision
