Suez exposed lying in government, government werent trusted. Profumo affair was exposed by media. Previous tactics of covering embarrassing information no longer worked

What was the establishment?
It was a term for the informal networks that connected the social and political elites. Because they mostly all took the same route they were sometimes called'the old boys network'.
