Made to be sick/electric shocks. E.g. Homosexuality/paedophilia. Therapist has full power. Give consent but in 60's was form of punishment. Important association is very clear (alcoholic still needs to drink liquids)

Rewarded using tokens, required behaviour identified. No oppurtunity to withdraw unless they want no rewards! Ensure system isn't abused. Rewards shouldn't be necessities..Staff need training

Expert power: expert in their field. Reward Power: Reward patient. Referent Power:given power because liked. Legitimate: therapists. Coercive: Must act ethically

Is psychology a science? Popper; Hypothetico-deductive model
Knowledge builds on existing theories. A researcher looks at a theory an from it generates a hypothesis - deduced from a theory. A theory,creating hypothesis based on theory, testing it and then accepting or rejecting the theory accordingly.
