Identify the dipstick, you pull it out and wipe it clean, put it back in and pull it out, the oil level should be between the minimum and maximum markers,

Identify the engine coolant tank and check the min/max markings, if the coolant is below minimum markings it should be topped up with coolant until maximum markers are reached,

Identify the reservoir and to check the levels it should be opened up and should be visually checked that it has sufficient washer fluid inside.

Apply the hazard warning lights, get out and check that all of the indicators are working (walk around the car).

Operate the brake pedal, if i was alone i would use the reflections from windows and garage doors or ask someone to help. Ask the examiner to get out and check.

Before starting the car the steering should feel heavy, when the engine is started there should be a noticeable amount of movement in the steering and it should feel lighter.

Apply the footbrake firmly, release the handbrake then reapply the handbrake, when releasing the foot brake the car should not move.

Turn on the ignition and operate the windscreen washer lever - pull the leaver towards me.

Turn the lights onto dipped and then turn onto fog lights, check for the orange and green warning light. Fog lights should be used when visibility is reduced to less that 100 metres.

Turn on relevant switch, the blue main beam warning light should appear on the dashboard display.

To demist the back windscreen the correct button should be pressed. To demist the front windscreen the fan air direction should be set up against the windscreen on a higher temperature.

You would start the car, drive forward slowly and press the footbrake. The car should stop, the pedal should feel firm and not spongy and the cary should not pull to one side.

The head restraint should be adjusted to the rigid part of the head restraint, it should at least be as high as the eyes or top of the ears and as close to the back of the head but should be comfortable.

The information can be found i the manufacturer's guide. A reliable pressure gauge will be used to check. Any adjustments should be made when the types are cold and the valve cap should be refitted.

Tell me how you would check the tyres to ensure that they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe to use on the road.
The minimum tread depth should be 1.6mm across the central 3/4 of the tyre and it should be around the entire circumference of the tyre. There should be no cuts or bulges in the tyres.
