Explain how you would check that the power steering is working before starting a journey.
First; start the engine and turn the steering wheel very slightly, if it's working correctly a small noticeable movement will be felt. Second; turn the steering wheel just after moving off, if it feels heavy it's not working properly.

Identify the oil dipstick. To check the level the dipstick needs to be removed and wiped clean. The dipstick should then be reinserted fully and removed again to see how much oil there is. It should be between the maximum and minimum lines.

Identify the coolant reservoir tank. It should be filled between the maximum and minimum markers. To add coolant unscrew the cap and top it up. This should be done when the engine has cooled to avoid danger of scalding.

Identify the brake fluid reservoir. The level of fluid needs to be between the maximum and minimum markers. If brake fluid regularly needs topping up, may be a serious problem.

Identify where the windscreen washer reservoir is and tell me how you check the washer lvel.
Identify the windscreen reservoir. To refill it flip open the cap nd check that the level of liquid is up to the neck of the bottle, topping it up as necessary.

Tell me where you find the information for recommending tyre pressures for this car and how tyre pressures should be checked.
The recommended pressures are given in the manufacture's guide. A reliable pressure gauge must be used, checking and adjusting the pressures when the tyres are cold and not forgetting the spare tyre. Remember to refit tyre caps.

Tyre tread depth can be checked using a gauge. Tyres must have a sufficient tread depth of at least 1.6mm of tread depth across the central 3/4 of the breadth of the tyre and around the entire circumference.

Press your foot down on the brake pedal, they should feel firm and not spongy. It's a good idea to check them after moving of.
