What is the definition of sex?

women were expected to be virgins at the time of marriage, A man was entitled to write his wife a notice of divorce and send her away but women did not have the same right

Jesus didn't specifically address sexual issues, In mark 10 he says that a man should not divorce his wife but in Mark 5 he says that adultery may be legitimate grounds to do so. He is introducing greater equality

the body is the “temple of the body” so should not be given to fornication and sinfulness He said wifes should be subject to their husbands but both should give their bodies to one another in sex

Traditonal churches say sex should be reserved for marriage when a couple has their relationship sanctified by God, however in a liberal society pre-marital sex is accepted and widespread

“try before you buy”, get to see if you are compatible, obtain trust, flexibility, good for people who dont believe in marriage, no performance pressure

If they break up the person knows their vulnerablitities, more abortions, more STD's, unwanted pregnancies, single parents

sex outside of marriage is a sin and sex outside of marriage shows a lack of discipline and brings about concerns for the institutions of marriage

goes against natural order God intended, and the CC believes that it is immoral as it doesnt lead to pro creation, a homosexual person should gain in self restraint and avoid sexual activity

challenges the sacredness which is sometimes given to sex. Premarital sex is a means of exploring ones sexuality and this is not treating a person as a means to an end but treating a person with mutual respect which cannot be wrong

may be acceptable in some circumstances if it brings about the most loving consequence, it has to be based on the four principles of pragmatism, relativism, positivism and personalism
