Sex identity is a biological term which refers to the chromosomes and hormones in a persons body, which makes them male or female.

Gender identity is a psychological terms which refers to the attitudes and behaviours that make someone feminin or masculin.

Females have ** chromosomes and Oestrogen hormone while males have XY chromosomes and testosterone hormone.

Sex identity is defined in the same way in all cultures while gender identity can be different in different cultures. Gender is a social construct.

When a young boy in the phallic stage experiences conflict because he has unconscious feelings of desire towards his mother and is afraid of his father.

When a young girl experiences conflict because she had unconscious feelings of desire towards her father and is afraid of losing her mothers love.
