What is the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone?
Heating of the Earth's surface causes low pressure which draws in cooler air to replace the rising air (air drawn from N and S of the Equator)

The ITCZ shifts Northwards to 23.5 degrees North on 21st of June bringing associated warm weather and possible anti cylones

The ITCZ shifts Northwards to 23.5 degrees South on 21st of December bringing associated cold weather
