Ongoing ambiguity, literal title, free verse, lack of rhyme, start= like crust going down into layers like earth.

'slice' and 'sun'- Assonance. 'Enroaching horizion'- Always an edge or boundary that the eye concedes. Enjambment following on to next stanza.
