What is Diffraction?
This is where waves spread out when they pass thorugh a gap or pass an object.the ampount of diffraction depends on the size of the gap to the wavelength of the wave. the narrower the gap or the longer the wave length, the more the wave spreads out.
1 of 5
What is refraction?
Waves travel at different speeds in substances that have different densities. So when a wave crosses a boundary between two substance it changes speed.
2 of 5
When does refraction occur?
refraction occurs when waves meet a new material at an angle. part of the wave hits the denser layerr first and slows down. while another part carried on at the first, faster speed for a while. When the wave changes direction, it as been refracted.

What are the seven types of elcetromagnetic waves?
Radio waves, Micro Waves, Infrared Waves, Visible Light Waves, Ultra violet Waves, X Rays, Gamma Rays
4 of 5
advantages of using EM waves for signals
signals travel really fast (light, radio, elect),
