Acids are very useful chemicals and can be used in everyday products we use

corrosive
corrosive acids are very dangerous as they can work their way through metals, stonework and skin

irritant or harmful
This means that they aren't corrosive, but can still hurt you if they touched your skin

sulphuric acid
This acid is used to make paints, dyes, washing up liquid and shampoo

Nitric acid
Is made to make fertilisers, explosives, dyes and medicines

Hydrochloric acid
Is used to make dyes and to remove rust from metals

dilute
this means when a scientist is meddling with a strong acid which could be corrosive, so when they need to DILUTE it, that means they use an alkali to rule out the amount of acid in the chemical

these are symbols on products that show how strong an acid is
