How Light affects Photosynthesis?
Light makes photosynthesis happen fast, because chlorofill, the green stuff inside a leaf, will only work if light is shone on it
7 of 16
Structure of a leaf: Epidermis is thin and transparent
To allow more light to reach the palisade cells
8 of 16
Structure of a leaf: Thin Cuticle made of wax
To protect the leaf from infection and prevent water loss without blocking out light
9 of 16
Structure of a leaf: Palisade cell layer at top of leaf
To absorb more light and increase the rate of photosynthesis
10 of 16
Structure of a leaf: Spongy Layer
Air spaces allow carbon dioxide to diffuse through the leaf
11 of 16
Structure of a leaf: Palisade cells contain many chloroplasts
To absorb all the available light
