KGB
KGB was the main security agency for the Soviet Union from 1954 until its collapse in 1991. Formed in 1954 as a direct successor of such preceding agencies as Cheka, NKGB, and MGB, the committee was attached to the Council of Ministers.

CHEKA was a Russian organization. The name originated from 'Extraordinary Commission' (In Russian) The workers in the organization were referred to as 'Chekists'.

Oprichiniki
The Oprichniki were Ivan the Terrible's 'henchmen'. They were created to govern the division of Russia known as the Oprichnina (1565-1572). They were garbed in black, and fancied back horses. They spread terror and fear across the land.
