Baptism
Sacrament when people become members of the Church. Water is used symbolically to wash away sin. Believer’s baptism is for adults, infant baptism is for babies or children.

Sacrament that gives thanks for Jesus. It celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus by drinking wine and eating bread.

Why is individual prayer important
Reminds Christians to forgive others and be peaceful, there is a pattern to the prayer which could help a Christians get a spiritual connection with God, it is easy to remember and say, praises God and asks for help with own needs.

Why is community prayer important
God is the father for the whole community not just the individual, when you say it together is helps strengthen the religious community, reminds all Christians that God is omnibenevolent, used at religious sacraments like baptism and holy communion/E

Why is society prayer important
The prayer is said in schools which means that even non- believers can see its impact, can bring spiritual purpose to society, can be said to help heal the community at tragic events like a mass shooting, unifying for all community.

What is infant baptism
Priest/vicar says prayers for baby, parents and God parents make promises to raise the child in the Christian faith, water is put on babies head to symbolise washing away of sin, hymns are sung to praise God

Why is infant baptism done?
to welcome baby into Christian faith, to make sure child learns about God/Jesus, in the Bible it says ‘go make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the father, son and Holy spirit’, to follow in Jesus’ footsteps as he was baptised

What is Believer baptism
Priest/vicar says prayers, adult makes promises to God and the congregation and is welcomed into the Christian faith, they are submerged in water to symbolise washing away of sin, hymns are sung to praise God

Why is infant baptism done?

What is the holy communion
Christians eat bread to represent Jesus body and drink red wine or juice to represent his blood, as they take this they say prayers and reaffirm belief in Jesus, son of God, congregation pray together

Why is the holy communion done?
To follow his footsteps,he said to do the Eucharist in remembrance of him,brings grace,brings people together,strengths faith and reminds them that they are lucky because others are starving in the world.
