Prison sentence

Non-Custodial sentence
Community service (volunteering to give back to the community to give back for what they did) Electronic tagging and curfew etc

Death penalty
Being put to death for serious crimes like mass murder etc

Death penalty for
Retribution, protection of society, deterrence, "an eye for an eye"

Death penalty against
Innocent people die, only God has the right to take life, no evidence that its a deterrence, sanctity of life, reformation can't happen if the criminal is dead.

Corporal punishment
Causing someone physical pain as a punishment eg whipping or beating.

Reasons for committing crimes
Poverty, Upbringing, Mental Health, Greed, Anger/Hate, Addiction, Opposition to an unjust law

Society should ensure no one gets into that situation. Support Food banks and living wage.

Parents should teach children the right way to behave

Most compassionate and loving thing to do is to help them treat it.

Against illegal drugs. Allow alcohol in moderation. Believe in rehabilitation

Some might agree but only if it is peaceful and no one is harmed.

NO,compassionate towards lawbreakers but condemn the crimes that they commit.

To change the offender's attiudes towards crime so that they can take their place in society as a law-abiding citizen.

God gave us the ability to make decisions for ourselves. We have a responsibility to do right but that doesn't mean we always will.

Showing pardon and mercy for someone when they have done wrong. "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." ~Luke 23:34

Jewish view on forgiveness
Offender has to show remorse to victim and ask honestly for forgivness. Victim has a duty to forgive if beleive that request is genuine. Then can be forgiven by God.

Muslim view on forgiveness
Only God can trulyforgive and will only forgive thode he knows arer truly sorry and intend to follow the faith properly in the future. Offender should seek victim's forgiveness before expecting God to forgive.
