What do the Beatitudes do for Christians?
They describe how Christians should live if they are to inherit the Kingdom. They are a collection of Jesus' religious & moral teachings. Christians seek happiness for others & in God & the beatitudes help to achieve this.

The priest explains the meaning of Christian marriage e.g. explains how it's permanent, exclusive, and involves responsibilities. He also tells them that God's love will help them

They symbolise love and fidelity. It is round which represents that marriage is everlasting and exclusive

That marriage is based on faithfulness and a man's love for his wife is based on Jesus' love for the Church

What is adoption?
When couples become legal parents of children whose birth parents cannot or choose not to look after them

What is fostering?
A temporary or permanent responsibility taken on for children which is shared with social services

What does the Church teach on adoption and fostering?
1) Every child has right to have a loving and supportive home 2) Vulnerable children are entitled to love and protection of family

Why do Christians choose to foster or adopt?
1) Many children don't have parents 2) Live a life of love 3) Unable to have children of their own 4) Want to share love and support

What does Jesus outline in The Sermon on the Mount?
That nothing should be allowed to break the faithful and exclusive bond of marriage. Also outlines the need for forgiveness for those who have sinned

1) Unreasonable behaviour 2) Cheating on a partner 3) Deserting a partner 4) Immaturity- married too young, false expectations 5) Money- gambling, debt 6) Children- one wants them, one doesn't

What is Jesus' teaching on divorce and remarriage?
Remarriage after divorce is the same as adultery and it can only be allowed if a partner has been unfaithful

1) Vows cannot be dissolved 2) Divorce is a grave offence 3) Church supports divorced couples though

What is an annulment?
Where the Catholic Church believes the marriage can be dissolved so it should never have happened
