what does advent mean?
advent means coming.

christingle candle, advent candle and advent wreath.

significance of Advent calender?
the calender counts down the days of advent. it has nativity scenes on the doors and also biblical references. there is also an advent picture on the front of the calender.

what does each part of the christingle candle mean?
an orange represents the world, the red ribbon represents blood of christ, the lighted candle represents the light of the world.

significance of advent wreath?
evergreen represents eternity. the four candles represent the four sundays of advent.

'turn stones into bread' after fasting for forty days jesus was hungry.

father has two sons. the youngest son wants his inheritence immediately. he wastes it all and ends up feeding pigs. he goes back to his father and asks for his forgivness. fathers accepts and forgives his son.

the eldest son is well behaved throughout yet is not happy about the celebration of his rebelious son. he is proud and rebellious.

the father represents god (forgiving people) youngest son represents a sinner (asks for forgiveness) eldest son represents a proud jew who cant recognise other peoples achievement.

it is the seperation between placks and white (different buses and loos etc.) the blacks if they had a job it would be a cleaner or low paid.
