Montagues and Capulets have bad blood. R is in love with Rosaline, who doesn't love him back. As a result he is depressed. R & J meet at a masked ball that Benvolio suggested they go to and Romeo and Juliet kiss and she realises he is a montague.

What happens in Act 2
Romeo lingers in Capulets garden, standing under Juliets Balcony. She calls out his name and wishes he was not a montague. They meet, kiss and Juliet takes over, saying that if he truely loves her that they'll get married secretly.

What happens in Act 3?
Romeo and Juliet are married. Tybalt and Mercutio are fighting but Romeo refuses to get involved. Mercutio is killed and Romeo kills Tybalt in revenge. Romeo takes shelter in Friar's cell. Right at end Capulets tell Juliet she is marrying Paris.

What happens in Act 4?
In dispair after being told she has to mary Paris or be disowned, she seeks Friar Lawrences advice. He gives her a sleeping potion. She tells them she will marry Paris then takes sleepinng potion. Nurse finds Juliet dead.

What happens in Act 5?
R finds out J is dead, gets a potion to kill himself by J. Friar finds out R did not recieve the letter and hurries to J tomb. Paris fights with R and Paris is killed. R takes potion. The Watch arrive and arrest Friar. Families agree to make up.
