jurors go to assembly area, check identities (kept apart from witnesses and lawyers), shown a DVD that sums up their role, 12 people are elected + 3 extra, chance to select ineligible and challenges, sworn in.

What is the Juries' role during and after the trial in criminal cases?

trial: judge then prosecution and defence (opening statements) then full trial, jury can take notes, judge sums up case, retire to jury room to discuss verdict, elect foreman, unanimous verdict, after 2 hours= majority 10+, foreman announces verdict
