Rocks,Limestone, Calcium Carbonate.

?
How do you know its an igneous rock?
They are formed when magma or lava solidifies. They are made from interlocking crystals which makes them hard and resistant to erosion. They have small crystals if the liquid rock cooled quickly and large crystals if the liquid rock cooled slowly.
1 of 5
Sedimentary rock?
Formed when layers of sediment are squashed. They erode more easily than igneous and metamorphic rocks. They are made of rounded grains and may contain fossils.
2 of 5
Metamorphic rock?
Formed from existing rocks by the action of heat and pressure which causes new interlocking crystals to grow. Marble is one formed by chalk or limestone.
3 of 5
What is limestone made from?
Calcium carbonate, a raw material used to make glass, cement and concrete.
