The rules- christians are most likely toconsult the ten commandments( thedecalogue). Some christians see these as god given rules. The teachings- for chrisitians the most important teachings are those given by jesus.

Some christians believe the bible contains the words of God literally, this means the bible must be followed as closely as possible. Other Christians consult the bible but interpret it in todays society.

the community of christians.

A priest will have spent several years training and will have studies the bible and learnt how the church jhs interpreted certain passages. This enables preists to help members of their community is they ask for advice about a moral problem.

How does the Church decide what is right?
Christians believe that God guides present-day Church leades to arrives at the correct teachings about moral issues, which are then passsed on to the Christians community.

Where does the Church get its authority from?
Many christians believe that God guides people in the world through the Church. Some christians regard the Church as the body of christ alive in the world today, this means that the Church has the same authority as Jesus.

Where do chrisitians believe conscience comes from?
Christians believe that our consciene is an inner part given to us by God as guidence. Some christians interpret the conscience as the voice of the holy spirit, leading them towards the right things

How reliable a guide is conscience?
Some christians would say tha our conscience is the most reliable guide we have when it comes to making moral decisions because it is lead by God. However some people claim their conscience has told them to do something that others would see as wrong

the teaching of Jesus that you should treat others as you would like them to treat you?

What is situation ethics?
the idea that Christians should base moral decisions on what is the most loving thing to do

why do chrisitans follow situation ethics?
Jesus taught the golden rule. For some christians this is a clear indication that the right thing to do in all situations is the most loving thing to do.

1. It is clearly set out in writing. 2. It was inspired by God. 3. Bibles are easily available for Christians to read and get answers for themselves.

1. the bible is a large book and not easy to understand. 2. A christians may not find an example of the same moral problem.3. The bible was written down hundreds of years ago.

what do christians think of genetic engineering?
Some christians say genetic engineering is playing God. Some christians accept genetic engineering becuase jesus healed people and this offers a 21st century way of healing. if God has given us scientific abilities we shoud use them for good

What do catholics think of genetic engineering?
Most catholic are prepared to accept the use of genetic engineering for purposed like medical reasearch but do not agree with using it on human cells.

What do protestants think of genetic engineering?
Protestants are more likely to accept genetic engineering, even involving human cells, because they believe in the long term it is in the intrests of humanity.
